Dublin Castle – Special Kinda Madness are coming to the Home of Madness

Dublin Castle, Camden

Ask any Madness fan what pub you think of when you think of Madness and they will say the Dublin Castle.

The Dublin Castle in Camden is the birthplace of Madness. Members of the band used to hang out in there in their youth and some of them still visit to this day. Only a couple of weeks ago Woody Woodgate chose the pub to launch his and his brother Nick’s new album, The Magic Line. Several band members still live in the area.

The walls are bedecked with photos of the band and other famous artists that have either played there or hung out there. The list of these is impressive – Amy Winehouse, Blur, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Supergrass and The Killers.

And now you can add Special Kinda Madness to that list. Headlining on Saturday 22nd March, 2014, they will pay homage to the incredible energy of The Specials and the anthemic songs of Madness themselves. You can already sense the buzz of anticipation amongst the Madness fans in particular who will get a chance to hear all their favourite songs in this iconic Madness pub.

Needless to say, the Special Kinda Madness members are themselves very excited to be playing here. Madness freak and lead singer of the band, Darren Jones, is on cloud nine and describes it as ‘a dream come true’.

What are the chances of any members of Madness coming down for a visit? Suggs only lives just round the corner so you never know!

Special Kinda Madness are a Specials and Madness tribute band playing one set from each iconic band.
