\"Gus<\/a>Gus is Special Kinda Madness\u2019 official mascot. He has over 300 likes on his Facebook page, pushing 200 followers on Twitter, and a growing Instagram account.<\/p>\n

He has proved himself to be a very a popular part of Special Kinda Madness. \u00a0Gus currently resides in Ruislip, Middlesex.<\/p>\n

What are your earliest memories?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s all a big mystery really. \u00a0I was actually pulled out of a skip by our lead singer, Darren, with all my tags still in place.<\/p>\n

What was the first Special Kinda Madness gig you attended?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Halifax on September 14th<\/sup>, 2013 is still probably my favourite ever. \u00a0Just remembering the fantastic light show, the crowd and lots of smoke. \u00a0A real baptism of fire for me. \u00a0Plus the show was run by Gorilla Zoo Promotions, so I felt right at home there.<\/p>\n

Do you ever get nervous at gigs?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Not really. \u00a0That would be very unprofessional. \u00a0It\u2019s all part of the job to be cool, calm and collected.<\/p>\n

I must admit it\u2019s no cake walk sometimes. \u00a0I\u2019m always up front so I get all the beer spillages. \u00a0Had some nasty moments too. \u00a0Being hurled 70 feet across a crowded dance floor in Norfolk was not good.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s all part of the job though, and I love it.<\/p>\n

Who are your favourite bands?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Madness, Specials, Bad Manners, and all the 2-Tone bands. \u00a0Plus I like the early ska, of course.<\/p>\n

I like a lot of other music too. \u00a0I often get asked to share or retweet posts on social media. \u00a0Don\u2019t mind doing that at all. \u00a0I have never bought into that rival band thing.<\/p>\n

There’s a lot of great stuff being played out there. \u00a0The Rockets and RPMs are my favourites at the moment.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s the best thing about your job?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are so many. \u00a0The obvious things like the buzz of being on stage, the atmophere and the music the guys produce.<\/p>\n

I think the best is when I’ve assumed my position on stage at the beginning of the night, and I watch all the fans come in and smile at me.<\/p>\n

That is the best thing for me – making people happy.<\/p>\n
